Looks like they broke it down into its separate constituents.

This looks at all in 1938, with UK #3 on the list. Behind #1 Switzerland and number 2, the good ole USA.

Just like China was a basket case until it instituted market reforms, and is becoming a basket case again as it rolls them back, you’re 180 degrees wrong about the US being where it is if it had China-like dynastic governance. It would have been a shadow of itself. Which is why China always was - it had no other inherent disadvantage. It didn’t even have a word for “market”, apparently, before roughly 1900.

I think your history is utterly wrong on this count, including a complete underestimation of the role of our political and economic system in our stunning success as a country.
